CORI 克莉

Cori was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon before moving to Seattle, Washington to attend nursing school. Following nursing school, she moved to Taiwan and obtained a teaching license. She has been teaching at a public middle and elementary school in Xizhi for 3 years. Cori enjoys playing the guitar, baking, and drawing. She likes to spend her weekends riding bikes on the river or chatting with friends at a coffee shop.

Professional experience: Nursing, public health, education

Education: BS in Nursing, Seattle Pacific University. Obtained a teacher’s license in Washington D.C. through Moreland University

Jocelyn 貞依

Jocelyn grew up in the Bay Area, and went to New York for college. She also studied abroad in Florence for a semester. Jocelyn enjoys looking for new coffee shops (her go-to is an Americano), dancing at a concert (worship, indie, pop, alternative, r&b, kpop, you name it), going through the children’s book section for inspiration, or traveling with friends and family.

Professional experience: graphic design, physical product design, social media design, visual graphics, content creation, Adobe Suite, illustration, fine arts, project management, startup culture, social media management, Google Suite, freelance, "slash" careers, teaching art and English, event coordination

Education: B.F.A. Communication Design - Parsons School of Design | The New School, GA Level 5 TEFL certification (i-to-i)

Yu-tang 羽唐

Yu-tang has studied and worked in the US for years before moving back to Taiwan. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising both his body and his mind. He also loves to spend time with his family, and making pizza. He has a curious mind and tries to to learn new things whenever he can, sometimes about the weirdest things, but mostly about technology and of niche interests.

Professional experience: a product professional passionate in building software, for both Taiwan and Silicon Valley startups.

Education: M.S. Public Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham; B.S. Health/Health Care Administration/Management with Minors in Public Health

Gabe 智忻

Gabe was born and raised in the US around Seattle, Washington. Growing up, he played many different sports, which led to his love of fitness training. He loves to go learn new things, discuss the news, go to the gym, watch sports, travel, cook and eat food! He has a range of interests he loves to discuss from: food, travel, history, music/movies, business, politics, fitness, sports, etc.

Professional Experience: supply chain management professional for global companies in coffee/food retail and aerospace.

Education: B.A. Operations Management & B.A. International Business - Western Washington University

Christine 欣瑋

Christine grew up in Tainan, Taiwan. When she was 16, she moved across the ocean to the state of Montana, USA. She later moved to Seattle for college and stayed in the States for about 10 years. She enjoys drinking coffee, jogging, hiking, and new adventures!

Professional experience: Tech startup, UX design, HR, Marketing, Product Operations

Education: B.S. Psychology, University of Washington

Nelson 致宏

Nelson has lived in many parts of the US: East Coast, Midwest, West Coast, but the South. Throughout his life he has always been an active person, participating in various sports in a variety of skill levels (though mostly amateur), so he has a great interest about anything sports or fitness-related. Nelson also enjoy chatting about medical & scientific research, geopolitics, to learn about whatever young people are into these days.

Professional Experience: ABPTS Board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Clinical researcher, University of Washington. PT and clinical instructor, Northwest Hospital Seattle. 13-year experience as a dog father, 9-year experience as regular father

Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy- Northwestern University. BS, Business Administration- Washington University in St. Louis.

KRisten 慈憫

Kristen grew up in the suburbs outside of Seattle, Washington, where she did traditional Chinese dance, played piano, and sang in the vocal jazz. She loves eating dessert, doing fitness challenges, and anything that has to do with the beach or mountains.

Professional experience: business technology enterprise consulting, startup culture, AI, UX design, project/product management, coding, Microsoft ecosystem, Adobe suite, photography

Education: B.S. Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction - University of Washington

Amy 惠美

Amy is a true midwesterner, as she was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She never imagined herself living in Taiwan until she moved to Seattle, met a handsome Taiwanese guy and got married. She's worked/volunteered in a variety of healthcare settings for 20+ years. She loves the mountains, traveling and exploring new places. She moved to Taiwan a few years ago and has 2 daughters in local schools.

Professional Experience: Healthcare: urgent care/occupational health nurse practitioner, inpatient nurse assistant, international aid/charity work, currently school nurse

Education: BA in communications, minor in intercultural studies - Trinity International University. BS and MS in nursing - University of Washington

Fredy 宏安

Fredy was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He spent most of his life there including university. Fredy moved out to Michigan for a year and then to Washington where he met his wife and moved to Taiwan. Fredy enjoys many types of food, video games, cars, and stock trading.

Professional Experience: IT Consulting firm, Business Intelligence Analyst, Engagement Manager position, cars, engineering consultant firm. Fredy has knowledge and experience with automation and the data analysis that goes with it.

Education: EMBA, BS in Electrical Engineering, AAS Automotive Repair

There is no formal schedule or method for the conversation partners--it is an informal chat. We will provide some conversation starters, but you are also welcome to bring any topics or ask any questions that you'd like to chat with your partner about!
